One problem many small business owners face is that technology is not their expertise.

That certainly was the case for Diana Kennon.
She’s been a CPA based in the Ohio Valley for a long time.

Technology is important for Diana’s business. She relies on all kinds of software to make her business reliable and productive.
But technology is NOT her expertise.
In fact – she only started using Google recently.
It’s not that she couldn’t master her technology if she wanted to. She’s a smart professional, who could figure it out in a heartbeat.
But she’s just very busy.
As she says: “Computers are not my expertise. Programming, software, and even the basic things are not something that I have the time to deal with. It’s not that I think that I couldn’t deal with it, it’s just that I’m a CPA – I’ve got tax law to learn, I’ve got clients to deal with”
Technology is confusing. And she just wants a solution that works for her.
“I Had No Idea What Technology Was Even Available”
When Diana branched out on her own and started her own business, this became a problem.
She wanted to set up the technology necessary for her to do her work, but didn’t know where to start.
She had a VAGUE idea of the technology needed, but couldn’t figure out the specific solutions that were right for her.
“I was facing the problem of setting up an IP-system – and what that was going to entail. What did I need, what did I not need? I knew the types of software that I wanted to use, but I had no idea what kind of hardware of interconnecting equipment I needed. I had no idea about what was even available!”
This was a problem she had ran into before.
In the past, she was never comfortable that her systems were in a great shape. When she reached out for technical support, she always felt like she was just being helped partially.
She was never 100% sure that what needed to happen actually happened.
And when talking to her own clients, she noticed that many of them had the same problems.
She had enough of that.
Technology problems were the LAST thing she wanted to deal with when she was just starting her new company.

“If I need service, it’s 20 minutes, and they react to whatever we ask. That is definitely a huge improvement and huge benefit to the service.”

“I do feel like that if there’s anything that I needed to do, I could call and talk to them. I might be stupid or ask stupid questions, but they’re not gonna treat me like I’m stupid.
There’s never an air of superiority or arrogance. They’re always there to help me.
I’ve never been disrespected and I know I’ve called for stupid questions. My favorite thing I guess is that they make me feel so comfortable.”
Her Data Is Safe And Secure
One of the biggest concerns Diana had when she started for herself was how she was going to handle the security side of the data she has.
As a CPA, she has a lot of important and sensitive data from her customers. It was important that this didn’t fall in the wrong hands (or it could hurt her customers, and damage her reputation).
“I was very concerned about the social security numbers, bank accounts, hacking – any of that.”
Worrying about this would keep her up at nights.
We helped her make her systems secure.
Now, all her data is safe and protected, and nobody can get access to her systems unless they’re allowed to. And we always keep an eye on her systems to make sure they stay safe.
Diana says: “That’s the biggest thing that I feel like I don’t have to worry about anymore. I know for a fact that their team is monitoring what I do.
Recently, we had what appeared to be a possible break in. And when I emailed them, they called me back and immediately knew nobody was in my system. That was a MASSIVE relief to say the least.

She’s More Productive Than Ever Before
Now that her technology is taken care of, she’s noticing some other unexpected benefits, too.
Her old technology never felt like it was working effectively.
“I had to work within a system where every time I tried to do something, it wasn’t connected. It was a process where there was always an additional step. I remember being incredibly frustrated by having to do things that just didn’t have to work that way.”
Changing the systems she uses made her life a lot simpler. Her work experience is more smooth and productive than ever before.
“There are things that just FLOW now, that I don’t have to tell it yes or no, I don’t have to go an extra step. It was then that I realized how efficient I could be – simply with the right systems. Simply with everything being integrated – and it being integrated properly.”
“I Can Now Sleep At Night – I Don’t Worry About My Systems”
Changing her technology changed the way Diana does business.
It made her work experience hassle-free and a lot smoother. And it affected her personal life, too.
“I sleep at night. I don’t worry about my system. Even from a technical going down type of scenario. We get a lot of electrical surges here (my area is notorious for it). Those are not issues for me anymore.”
Letting us manage her technology freed up Diana’s time so she could focus on her business.
